Making the CZ-858 Easier on Brass

Hey all,

I got an 858 a while ago, and it is a really great rifle. The one problem with it is not slam fires from soft primers like I would expect, instead this thing is brutal on my brass. Each brass case comes out of the rifle with a nice dent from the ejector and a bunch of scars (although I can live with scars). I don't think I should reload brass with a small dent just below the neck should I? Do you guys know of anyway that would save my brass? I don't need the casings to go flying into orbit, I would be happy with them just landing at my feet instead of across the range. Maybe I could make the ejector not as hard somehow?

PS: I hope I got this in the right forum, because it is half to do with reloading and half to do with the black rifle, if not please move mods. Thx
 
shoot milsurp steelcase ? - seriously though, these rifles are designed for steel case ammo and for ammuniton in which reloadability is not a consideration. In this the Vz 58 is like the AK. The AK absolutely destroys brass (makes the case mouth look like Pac Man) The primary consideration for the designers was getting the spent casing the hell out of the way before the next one fired. Since the '58 was designed for a higher rate of fire than the AK I would imagine it's more pronounced, although there isn't the body cover to hit. Trying to save the brass will almost certainly involve modifications that will destroy the reliability of the rifle, or it's longevity.
 
As for reloading the brass, I would just go ahead and reload it. The dent won't come out completely with resizing ( I would suggest you neck size only your own brass anyway), and go ahead and shoot it. It certainly isn't going to effect performance although the brass may not last as long.
