Proper cheek weld is very important to line the dot up quickly. Basically it has to be a mechanical perfecrly repeatable weld. So the sight has to be at the correct high in relation to where your eye is when you weld your cheek to the stock. This may mean adjusting your sight height with a different riser or if your lucky you have a cheek riser on your stock.
Once that is done, learn to raise the gun to your cheek while keeping focus on the target. Dont focus on lining your eye to the dot, just place the dot so it is on target. You end up placing the dot between your eye and the spot you want to hit on the target. Two contact points for this is cheek and front arm control. The shoulder should be a pivot point. Posture is also important as it allows you to swing the barrel from side to side. If you want a quick side to side swing/transition, place your front grip further out. When you go side to side, let your eye contact your new target first and land the dot between your eye and the new target. Its a very fast thing, its one fluid movement when you have practiced enough.
I may not be of much help but to me thats how I got into it with the eotech. Many 22 rounds were spend doing that lol..
