so i have this model 80-dl-22 cal-s-l-lr and I'm trying to do a small restore on it just so i can plink around with it...it works just fine for now but i'v been doing a little digging and i found out that it can have a side mounted rear sight on it, also i wouldn't mind getting another clip for it. the problem is i can't seem to find any one who may have parts available especially the rear site in particular. can any one point me in the right direction. i should also add that original is better.

I've had a few 81's, but n'er an 80, so I've never shopped for a magazine... The actual sight is called a 12R, and they also show up on ebay (I hate ebay!) sometimes.

You could try a WTB ad in the EE, check at shows. Often when I'm looking for something at a show, I'll ask vendors whether they have one on their tables or not. Not every vendor can bring everything they have and fit it on a table, so make arrangements for the next show. Call all the shops you know (hard to be specific 'cause none I know of are in caves), and biggies too (Western, etc)

These are fine shooting rifles!

Sorry i miss spelled marlin. yes it is a fine shooting rifle..thats why i want to clean it up a little and get a few of the original parts for it, its fantastic to shoot and very comfortable to use...its a generation gun for me, my great grand father bought it and its been past done it ended up in my cabinet, and i hope to past it down to my kids, so preserving it is very important to me...im in ontario so, but i have a little family out west as well that can keep an eye open for me, and I'm guess ill have to start calling around..and thank you for the info, all i ended up finding out that it was made between 1946 till 1968, so it doesn't even have a serial number for it.
