I just picked up a 1942 Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant 91/30, all matching and great bore, with a bayonet and 100 rounds of ammo for under $250! Taxes in.

Life is good. :D

To top it off their service was great... they were busy as hell but still let me look at everything I wanted so that I could make my decision.

Any other guys here have a good run-in with them? Manage to peek in the gun/pistol room?

If they took pictures of everything they had they'd be closed 6 days a week just for photography! They are a great old shop with a huge selection of interesting stuff, much of which you will NEVER see in any other shop in the GTA. IIRC they will email you with pictures of anything that you seriously are thinking about buying.

I agree with Tyler, their service is great even when they're busy, which is usually the case. Best of all, their gunsmith Doug has been pretty quick with the few jobs I've taken in to have done. Same-year service from a local gunsmith...what a novelty!

Great store!

John

None of the pictures work on their website, how is that a good website? :(

THat is a bit of a pain in the ass, but I've found so far that every time I've emailed them asking for pics of a particular rifle they've replied with them in a couple of days.

Great family run shop. A true old style shop, with an important heritage. Old Elwood did a lot for cartridge and rifle development in Canada. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas.

Must be nice to live next door from Ellwoodepps cause alomost impossible to reach them by phone. Been trying for days, message says to keep trying !
Carry on the good service !
Would have liked to purchase one of the handguns advertised on their website. Doesn't seem to be much of a turnaround in their inventory.

I have been in the store on a weekend during hunting season and the counter (big long counter) has been two deep with customers waiting to be served. Just crazy!

Other times in the winter during the week, I have spent three hours leaning on the counter talking and just looking at stuff.

If you don't get through on the phone or get a timely response to an email, it will be because they are busy with customers. They are open on a Sunday, closed Monday!

I think that they should be on the Tourism Ontario map!!! It is a store well worth the effort to visit just to see.

Best gun store in Ontario !

it's up there, but it's not "the best"... at least not anymore. Just one man's opinion.

Visit the marstar store sometime to see something truely impressive. Sadly most of the coolest stuff isn't for sale :( (movie prop rentals only)

I thought it was a warehouse with no public access?
At least that is what their website used to say.
