Manitoba night hunting application

its akin to filling out a form to be a legal crack house.. are people really going to do it ? probably not. and they aren't going to let them get approved anywhere close to normal civilization.
if you cant beat em, join em, and at least you have their info so they can spot check them the days they are supposed to be there.
 
This would be handy to thin out the wolves that snack on my cattle from time to time, but I don’t qualify no INDIGENOUS STATUS IDENTIFICATION to include with the application.
I suppose if caught night hunting the charge would no permit as opposed to night hunting!

Even a couple 5 year olds playing marbles, know that two sets of rules just leads to trouble.
 
Odd how racism only goes one way... You would think that equality means being equals no second set of rules for someone because of skin color (and that's what this is as I am a white native Canadian just like my father and his father...at what point can one call himself a native of the country if ever??). Anyhow if its traditional (like they say) then by all means but I doubt the aboriginal people used guns or vehicles in the old days so they it would make sense for them to no use them in todays hunt....you know to keep the tradition. I would think using guns and vehicles is more of the white mans tradition, just saying.....Bow and arrow or spear I'm fine with but no modern tools that were brought over from other cultures.

Didn't two dudes get shot up just this year, while sitting in a blind during daylight hours? It'll be interesting when bullet holes are found in people's houses. But eh, if it keeps all those Manitoba Elk hunters out of Saskatchewan...

The noble people who INVENTED the rifle, and INVENTED the light....it is NOT their heriditary right to night hunt. Why?
....But some other NOBLER people cultrurally appropriated the rifle and the light, and it is their traditional heriditary right to night hunt?! (they didn't even invent the tools needed to do this!!!!!!!!!)

The Supreme Court legalized night hunting in 2006... google “Morris Decision”. IIRC, all provinces were intervenors in the case. I’m surprised that Manitoba has gone as far as issuing permits. Unless local FN’s are on board with it, I can see a legal challenge i.e. why do they need a permit to exercise a right?

Thermo or NV etc

I Use to hunt foxes (Charlie’s) at night for many years when I lived in Europe with just a hand held lamp and nothing else.
Just interested to know about what’s allowed here

I then progressed to a raptor and a pvs-14 and that’s a game changer.
Had to stop because it was too effective. more like a massacre in conjunction with a silencer with a 204 or any 6 mm

i spent 80% of my hunting time lamping foxes and rabbits of a night for years
great fun and very effective fpr vermin control
for the life of me i dont understand why it isnt legal here.

You should have joined us in Lithuania a few years ago. I was invited by friends at the start of the Africa Swine flu epidemic. The government wanted everything shot and they don’t care how it is done. Serious

Each local hunter is allocated a designated area by lottery. I literally hopped on a plane within a few hours with all the toys.....

Probably the best cull hunt I ever attended.
