Guess?
I just ordered a Marauder 10/22 kit, and I was wondering what my optic options are?

I am liking these, which I found at CanadaAmmo, but would the work on a G36 platform?

hey berger,

I'm not sure why they wouldn't work? Is there something different about the G36 that it needs a different kind of optics? Its all a matter of adjustment, no?

Hey!

I guess they should...just never held the stock and I want some kind of adjustable optic, rather than a static dot. Seems Canada Ammo is Out of Stock on all models like the one shown.

i'm pretty sure you'll be alright with any optics. Again, as long as adjustment is made correctly.

You should try looking at a couple more retailer's website, like Frontier Firearms, Wanstalls, SFRC, etc.

And worst case scenario, if you can't find what you,re looking for with site sponsors, try maybe Cabelas?

cheers.

just stay away from NC-star, you wont be sorry spending a few bucks more on something more quality (vortex strikefire 10 bucks more at SFRC)

Make sure they'll mount to rails. IIRC, a couple of the NC Star scopes are meant for an AT-15 carry handle although they may include rail mounting hardware as well.

There is a Bushnell TRS-25 for sale on the EE ($125), that is what I put on mine for optics and the iron ( ok..plastic..lol) sights cowitness with the Busnell.
For the money it is a very good reddot .

Thanks for the tips guys. I was looking at the NC-Star, so I will avoid it. I like the Bushnell for my CZ, rear site mount!

I really like the style of the one in the pic, but what would you call it? Is it considered a tactical red dot?

Received and installed my G36 handle scope today. This scope seems to be made very well, at least for a .22. The picatinny rail on top of the optic, which is loose in the rear and not adjustable, is the only "issue." It also slips on the Marauder rails with some slight persuasion from my palm. I sighted it in using a laser bore sighter, which should get me on paper, and threw on a Tasco red dot. Too much?? :D

high rise optics might be too high for the g36 platform. you wont get a good cheek rest and the sight could be difficult to zero

Will work, but you won't be able to use the iron sights. To use the iron sights on the handle, you need something that has a see through high rise mount.

I read your thread and understand you don't want a static dot but I would like to make a suggestion regarding one anyway. You mentioned you haven't held the stock yet. For me, considering the stock, I wanted to keep it light and keep the natural pointing aspects of that stock so I went with a Fastfire clone. It is small, light, and lines up quickly for fast shots. It sits nice and low so your not wishing you had a cheek piece. I know there are issues with clones but this one seems to be holding up, the optics are clear and the dot is self adjusting to the light.
It doesn't co-witness but hasn't been an issue for me. It is made by a company called Vector Optics. I got it on CGN but you can also get them on ebay. ht tp://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vector-Optics-Sphinx-1x22-Auto-Light-Sense-Red-Dot-Sigh-/130395432833?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item1e5c2c6781
Just a thought. You could always sell it if you didn't like it. Not a huge investment.
Here is how it looks:
