March Scope

Thanks tomochan, I do appreciate the time you take to do these reviews for us.
Please tell me it's a pmII 5-25 and a 8-32 Nightforce.

Thanks for the nice coment - if all goes according to plan the March will be compared with PMii 12-50 and NF BR 12-42 and a NF NXS 8-32

To use Carl's 8 x 80 - 56 would not a fair comparison. This scope uses a 34 mm maintube while the others use a 30mm. If you want to use one of my 10 x 60's then you are welcome. That would be more of a fair comparison. I would be interested in the results.

For everybodies information, the last major match I was at a dealer came out with what had to be $50,000 worth of high end scopes. Included in that was a number of S & B's. His comments were that he would sell the S & B to anyone but he was warning everybody that the last six S & B's of various types he had sold came back as defective and had to be sent in on warrenty!! Not a great sales pitch but honest!!

The S&B 12-50 has a 34mm tube as well.

Also, I call BS on the dealer's defect story. I have yet to see a single S&B that had to go back for warranty never mind six consecutive.

I will add my own contrarian anecdote, I know a Canadian manufacturer of Firearms that has sold hundreds of S&B scopes attached to their products and to my knwledge they have yet to take one back as defective.

I bet that dealer had been cut off by Schmidt and Bender cause from what I have read they are amongst the most reliable scopes out there.

^^^ agree with the above, every company is going to have something go wrong at some point but the last six S&B's "YOU" sold as a dealer and they all went back for some issue.....something is off there.

All I can relate is to what what said. I know nothing more and I am not interested in a did he or didn't he say something argument. I couldn't care less. I was not interested in purchasing any of the scopes offered so had nothing in the mix. I had just walked up to the table and heard the comment. I believed him to be sincere.

However, I do know of a couple that have failed but know of March, Nightforce, and Sightron that have failed also so no news there. US Optics is not well thought of either.

I guess that is why the warranty can matter! :)

Looking forward to the big comparison review, it really is tough to get everything you are interested in side by side.

FWIW I've contacted S&B Europe and North America, so if I get info about manufacturer warranty that differs from the website I'll post it up.
