Margolin pistol?

Margolin

I got mine a week ago and have put about three hundred rds. thru it since then,...I wasn't sure what i was getting when i took it out of the box......WOW ....I was impressed...I can see why the Russians used this as a competition pistol....nicely balanced and the sights are very user friendly....since I got mine I have three friends that have shot it that have now ordered their own from Tradex. Reading some of the reports on Margolins state that they never wear out....For the price I don't believe that you can go wrong.....

They're the Russian equivalent of the Ruger MK2 (Just easier to strip down)
- Every body has one
- Super accurate
- Relatively inexpensive for a bullseye gun

Had one as my 'backup' for a number of years...

They're a fabulous entry level target pistol. Traded(dumped it really) a Ruger Bull barrel for one that had been worked on by a guy who was a master machinist and claimed to have shot with the East German Olympic club. Trigger job, trigger stop and a palm rest grip. It never gave me any grief of any kind. However, parts, that you'll likely never need, will be difficult to find and any aftermarket stuff, like SillyMike's grips, won't be easy to find either. They shoot well though.

Had mine out to the range for the first time on Monday. Don't know if everybody's trigger pull is the same, but the best way to discribe mine, is "wierd". First shot is normal, then for the additional rounds, I need to pull back on the trigger a little (heavy pull), then let the tension off trigger, and then pull for a second time. Second stage of the pull is lighter. Just found this out by trial and error. Also the cartridges don't feed properly from the magazine. I have to pull up on the bullet to allow for proper alignment with the chamber. Last three rounds chamber properly. Guess I'll have to play with the mag lips. Think I'll like this gun once the kinks are worked out.

this is a great handgun.....it was designed by a blind gunsmith.....he designed not only this handgun, but a number of rifles aswell....
I really like my, newer model....very accurate and comes with spare parts...

Hi all
I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on these pistols? Any issues or advantages to owning one?

Many thanks!

In 2008 my Margolin was listed at 190$ on EE forum and was dificult for me to find a buyer and was Soviet era pistol. The production before 1989 have a over all a better quality in fit and finish.

I bought one last year and it turns out it's by far the most accurate of the 22 LR handguns I own.

Mine came in a wood case with all kinds of accessories (screwdriver, cleaning rod, extra mag, spare parts, etc.). It took me a while to figure how to strip the gun, because none of the manuals I found on the Internet actually explained the proper procedure.

For $200 I couldn't have asked for a better value.
