Mark II low swing safety pops out

Hello,

I don't pretend to be a gunsmith by any means but have been tinkering with a model 96 project of late. I installed a Mark II low swing safety but it "pops" out every once in awhile during live fire. The little Teflon friction piece was missing so I installed a small spring to keep it from rattling instead.

Any ideas on what's causing this?

Not enough friction from your little spring. Seriously, once they have some miles on them they all do this, it's not the best design in the world. - dan
