Mark II stock length

I took my Mark II out today for the first time and find it rather short. Would I be better off to find a butt pad that makes it a bit longer or look for a new stock?

Along the same lines I find find the check rest very low. Is there a stock that will fix both of these? or should I look for a check rest aswell.

Depends which model you have I have the BV with the laminate stock and I find the length and cheek weld perfect.

One option is to get a Boyds stock. You can order them with longer LOP

I have an fvt model, so it is the composite stock.

Yeah, those cheap plastic stocks are pretty bad. If you scope the rifle it will be more of a chin weld than a cheek weld. You can make or buy a cheek riser but that won't help your LOP issue. You would need to extend the buttpad as well. Or just go shopping for a new Boyd's stock.

Yup I agree when I was trying them out I noticed how flimsy they were and low cheek weld.The TR was nice but around $600 the FVT about $299 I bought the BV for $369,would have like the thumhole stock but I shoot LH and would be hard to re sell.So far happy with the Laminate ambi stock.I had issues with my scope so I swapped it with a larger one and slightly taller rings and the cheek weld is still good.I would look for a used laminate stock or the Boyds,I think Mystec Precision sells the Boyds

Boyd's sells direct as well and ships to Canada. About $140 USD or so to your door if I am not mistaken. You will also need the bottom metal (trigger guard and floor plate) which Boyd's also sells or you can try to source the DIP Inc bottom metal which is better quality but very hard to come by in Canada.
