Just reaching out the community on here to find out the best ways to mark my brass so that I can identify it as mine at the range after shooting.
This is for my reload brass, but will also like to here your opinion on marking factory ammo. Will be using 9MM
Thought about a Sharpie.

Thanks again from a newbie. :runaway::runaway:

Sharpie. When I'm working up handloads I write the powder weight on each one in case they get mixed up.

The best way I have. Come up with is mark a : /,x,O,V on the primer. This will identify the load and the cases on the ground.
Best part is that the primer is removed for the next reload, and no messed up marked brass

If you wet tumble, use a double charge of lemi-shine. Brass turns a lovely shade of pink. Stands out like balls on a bulldog.

I do the same as DT Hunter with marking primers. Write down the legend and throw it in my ammo box then I know exactly what every round is. I find the marker wears off a bit after firing so it might not be the best way to find your own brass. You could use a little paint in the engraving on caseheads then wipe the excess off leaving the engraving colored. Should last the life of the case but if you've got thousands to do, might want to enlist some buddies or willing family to help.

I just draw a ring around the primer with a sharpie. Different colours for different loads just in case I drop the box and they get mixed up. I also write the loads down with the matching coloured sharpie.

I stole a couple of my wife's nail polish containers and marked the head stamp different colors and just wipe the case head across a fine rag to remove excess. They have been through 4 corn cob media cleanings with Dillon polish and are still very visible. Still not busted!!!!!

Sharpie for me, too.

I wet tumble, though, so I have to remark the cases each time. I use a very large, chisel-edge sharpie. After I prime cases, I put them in an MTM case-gard box, mouth down. I then just drag the chisel-tip across all the heads.

I have noticed that the sharpie stuff comes off and gets on the bolt face, so I'm thinking about some other way of marking brass. One idea I've heard but haven't tried yet is to get an ink pad for stamps and just press the head of the case into the pad.
