I've taken possession of this Walther, but know zero about Milsurps.
If anyone could help me out with information and value,
it would be most appreciated.
The pistol is in nice condition, clean barrel, and functions perfectly.
I'm going to put it up in the exchange, but not sure what the value is.
All serial numbers match and from what I have read, this was a Walther manufactured pistol.

It is a Walther.

Does the locking block match?

You see a lot of guys list these up around $8-900 and they just don't sell. After seeing it so many time I tried myself. And they don't sell for that. I got $800 for a 90% ac42 with hard shell holster and two correct mags.

If you want to sell it, I'd wager around $6-700. You could likely sell the two later non ww2 mags separate.

Disclaimer to all the cgn uber high value club. I'm not interested in this gun, I wouldn't buy it at $600 If you've seen them SELL for more back it up with proof. Lol

CanadianAR: right on the money in my opinion.

I have no interest in buying this gun either, at the above described value or other.

There's no shortage of nice vet bringback P38's in this country -- for now. Perhaps many of those who would collect German pistols are turned off by the 12.6 laws, hard to have a nice German pistol collection without an original barrel Luger or PPK.

Common P38's don't really bring much money in the US either, so exporting and having import marks applied is not a realistic idea, if even still possible.

Here is another pic.
Is this what is meant as the block.
The serial number matches the rest of the gun.
I was hoping that maybe Adolph or Eva owned this piece.
Just joking...just joking.
One of the mags is stamped jvd.

I would say 400-650$. People have increased there prices due to RC P38s being sold at 600-700$ but the reality is the demand isn't there. They are nice pistols, just not a WWII 1911 in terms of demand (though if I had to choose between a WWII 1911 and P38, prices being equal I would take the P38).

Like the others have said, there's no shortage of P38s here in Canada. In my opinion this is about a $650 pistol at most (on it's own). The magazines range from $50-80 depending on condition/maker and holsters typically fall within the $100-300 range depending on if they're soft or hard shell. Based on the pics you've posted, I'd be willing to bet that two of the four mags shown above are likely post war produced for the P1 rather than the P38.
