markings on the GEW 98

just a couple of markings I am wondering about on my GEW 98. the stock disk is not filled out.

it looks like D 14. is that a rack number? and what is all these little letters? also there is a different number other then the serial number under the wood.

Stampings under the barrel are Proof stamps. Letters in the recoil lug/magazine area are inspector's stamps or makers stamps. When these rifles were made, several people might be involved in making parts of them, and fitting and inspecting them. Each would do his part or job, then stamp his own individual stamp on the firearm, usually in a designated part of the action.
