Marks on inside of barrels

Did anyone have any trouble, having what looks like scratch marks on the inside of the barrel just past the forcing cone.They are removable, but only after using a copper wire brush and lots of solvent and continuous brushing.Just wondering if this could be caused by tbe wads

Sounds like you could lead or plastic building up in the barrel.It is uaually caused by rough spots in the barrel.In most shotguns that I have seen this in ,it smooths itself out by scrubing out the streaks and shooting.Sometimes it takes a fair number of times for this to happen especially if a new shotgun.

I would guess from wad build up, yup.
BUT, if it is coming out, I wouldn't worry about it!

I switched powder to Clays, it's cleaned mine right up, they look like brand new barrells inside now.

I had some chrome flake off mine once on a weatherby/SKB O/U. Good scrubbin and it shone right up again
