i just bought a 45-70 marlin model 1881 . i need info on parts, stocks. i am re-building it, to new cond. it will be a shooter when finished. any info on parts in canada would be helpful.

Great purchase I have one in 38/55 that needs restoring, but mine has all the parts fortunately. Her is a company that manufactures as well as inventories parts for old Marlins and Winchesters( WISNER'S INC. PO 58 ADNA, WA 98522 ph#360-748-4590 fax#360-748-6028) the web site is www.gunpartsspecialist.com ,they only sell internal parts wich I imagine means no actions barrells and such. I hope this helps as there is no where I know in Canada to find this stuff, regards Dale in T-Bay PS there are 3 different size of frames for the 1881 so if you need help indentifying it PM me here
