Marlin 1893 price check

Friend of mine has a takedown Marlin model 1893...38-55 made in 1904 ....in 65%+ condition....24" octagon barrel...bullseye sight...shinny bore...no rust and no pits

It is available for sale.....what would be the price range to ask...

Marlin 1893 T/D's are fairly desirable. If the barrel hasn't been cut it is special ordered as 26 inch barrels were standard on 1893 rifles. Without good photos valuation is difficult. If original and in the shape you describe I would say $1000 at least. By "bullseye" sight do you mean aperture sight? Is the barrel round, part round or octagonal? Does it have a crescent buttplate or a shotgun butt? All non standard features will increase value as long as they are factory original.
