MARLIN 1894 Classic - 44 Rem Mag proper ammo?

I just bought the above lever gun in .44 REMMAG. Can I shoot .44 magnum or .44 Special from this rifle?

Yes. 44 rem mag and 44 mag are the same thing. You can also shoot 44 special.

If you’re planning on hunting with it, I’ve had really good luck with hornady 240xtp’s on deer, bears, and accuracy.

Factory ammo is stupid money. Hornady xtp is the best hunting bullet. If your plinking, a campro plated, or equivalent. Magnum pistol powder like 2400, or H110. Fireballs at dusk. Perfect boondocking protection rifle, or 《75yds hunting.

Doubt you will have much luck finding 44 special. It's irrelevant, and sometimes, the feeding is a problem. Certainly don't need to worry about recoil, using low power loads in a rifle.

The Marlin web site shows pictures of the barrel address " 44 Rem Mag ". https://www.marlinfirearms.com/s/model_1894Classic/

The description includes "Tubular magazine features a loading gate located on the receiver and will accept 10 rounds of .44 Rem Mag or 11 rounds of .44 Special ammunition."

I hope they get some longer (octagonal) barrels for us for next year.
