I'm not sure why folks ask odd questions when the internet can answer them very quickly.
Yes this Ruger/Marlin SBL stainless/laminate rifle has a cold hammer forged barrel. Read it in the barrel description in the specifications.....
And yes, this rifle is made by Ruger/Marlin. Not Remington, and will not have a John Marlin (JM) mark stamped on the barrel.
I've owned original JM Marlin rifles, as well as Remington Marlin (REMLIN), rifles. These new model Ruger/Marlins are better in fit & finish and are just well built all around.
Now are they perfect, No not all the time. it's an assembly line manufactured firearm not handmade like some $20,000.00 rifles.
The two I have bought in the last 4 years are good. One was perfect and needed nothing. The other needed some honing, polishing, and deburring of the internals. Would one expect to have to work on a $2000.00 newly purchased rifle, well no. However, firearms manufactures are out to make money, and sometimes quality control gets missed.
This price of $1999.99 that G4C has is the best price I have ever seen on a Ruger/Marlin SBL in 44 magnum. I would highly recommend buying one. But be prepared to possibly tinker on it.
