Hello, I am think of selling my marlin to a buddy and I just want to get a rough value. Its a marlin 1895 cowboy (26" octagon barrel) with less than 40 rounds through it. Can't get a picture as in working out of town right now. I heard marlin quit making them a few years back. The gun looks brand new. Thanks
Trevor

I got mine for $1000 with a leupold 2x7x33 a year ago. I think I got a great deal but I concur when they do come up for sale (not often) they are in the 1000-1200 range.

I hated mine and when I even mentioned that I had one I had two guys PM me for details and sold it to one of them for $1200. At that kind of profit margin I wish I'd bought a half-dozen.

I have been watching for a year (since I foolishly sold the one I had).

$1,050 seems to be the sweet spot. Once the price drops to that level - it goes SPF.

My search continues...

The 24" unit is $1800+ at Wolverine. It is far too nice to actually hunt with.

The pistol grip might help out with recoil.

Perhaps a WTB ad is called for after tax season.
