I just called Cabela's to order one of the Wild West Big Loop levers for my Marlin 1895 and was told that they could not ship this part over the boarder. Does anyone know of a dealer here in Canada who stocks these?

This can be ordered from Brownells, I'm not sure if you can order or if a Retail store has to order or what...there are 2 diff. large loop levers, one from DRC and one from Wild West Guns....they are $149.00 US...you may have to find a dealer in Canada who is a Brownells dist......of the two levers the WWG one is much more "Western Cowboy" looking, while the DRC one is more utilitarian looking. I have the DRC one and it required no fitting, I find i needed one with all the testing we do with heavy loads.

Thanks for the info. It looks like the Canadian dealer that Wild West Guns deals with is in BC. I have his number now. It's a shame we can no longer order this kind of stuff direct.

Wild West Guns, who are on the net have a Canadian distributor in BC. If you go to www.wildwestguns.com you will find the listings for our side of the border. I have an 1895G and I bought two levers off ebay and had a smithy fabricate it. When you see what you have to pay for one from WildWest at our price you will see why I did what I did.

I have ordered quite a bit from Brownell's, including Marlin parts including the DRC large loop lever, which I prefer to the Wild West one.
Brownell's are quick to ship and have great customer support. Just remember the $100.00 cut off for an export permit, which are free and easy to get on line from the Feds. So easy to do now that with the dollar being so good, I think I am going to put in another order.

I've got a Cowboy style big loop for sale on EBAY right now. It's got two days left before it ends. Look it up. Its for a Marlin 1895.

Emailed Back Country Sports about a week ago. Still no answer.

The "Dealer" in this case is Darrel MARSH....Darrel is an in house gunsmith for Backcountry (separate shop and buisness though). Unfortunately Darrel leaves for five weeks at a time to go to Libya and smith for some of the troops there.....you would probably be better off going another route for the lever.

Heard from Back county sports, the large loop lever is $234.99 through them, plus tax and shipping. Quite a jump from the US price of $149. I think I might just be filling out those forms for shipping from the states.

The limit is $500 now, Brownell's and many other companies are not with it.

You sure about that? I just checked out the US State Department website and this is what the had posted under the ITAR regs;

123.17 Exports of firearms and ammunition.
(a) Except as provided in § 126.1 of
this subchapter, Port Directors of U.S.
Customs and Border Protection shall
permit the export without a license of
components and parts for Category I(a)
firearms, except barrels, cylinders, receivers
(frames) or complete breech
mechanisms when the total value does
not exceed $100 wholesale in any transaction.

If you have a link to different info, can you post it? Thanks

A guy can make his own too. Heat up the steel and stretch it out. Theres enough steel to work with, hellova lot cheaper than 150bucks... Or just ask a metal fabricator to do it or make somthing to what you want. Probally cost a case of beer. Good luck.

Cheers
