As the title says skinner vs xs, I have a set of skinners on my one of my 1894. Just curious if the camper are any better or go with the tried and true trusty skinners.

I have the xs on an 1894 44mag, they are quite large compared to the skinner sights I've owned previously. Goog fast aqusition and accuracy inside 50 yards but opened up quite a bit at 100 yards for me anyway.

I had a 1895GBL with XS winged, I have had Skinner's on a Rossi and a Henry, I prefer the XS but not a huge difference, I found the XS easier to adjust but I think the Skinner's look better.

A bit off topic, but I put firesights on mine. Very fast acquisition, accurate as well. I had a Skinner on a 92 and prefer the FS, but I have wonky eyes, and peeps can be tricky.

Haven’t used a Skinner. But had XS sights on my last 1894 and didn’t care much for them. Very large and frankly fugly.

Have a Lyman rear sight and a marbles front on my 1895 CBA and don’t mind it. And I have marbles front and back on my 1894 CB 24” and love them, if it matters.

Love my XS sights on my 336. Once you get used to the big rear sight they are fantastic. 12" gong at 140yrds standimg, no problem. Like most sight, just takes practice.
