What would you guys think about re barreling or sleeving (which ever makes more sense) a 30-30 to 25-35? I have an old Winny 94 in 25-35 but wouldn't mind a 336 so I can scope it.

If the '94 Winchester has a good bore & chamber, mounting an XS rear sight would be a good option. For a Marlin, a re-barrel is the best way to go.

Sounds like a great idea. If you do it - I would suggest having it chambered for the improved version. You can really get a boost in velocity.

Seems to me a short 16"-18" barreled 25-35 336 scoped would make a awesome little Southern Ontario truck gun. Good little gun to pack in the back seat when out cutting wood in the bush for an opportunistic coyote sighting!
