Marlin 336 & 30AS

I have a 30AS and as far as I can tell it's just a different stock and barrel band. Same action though, I think it's the budget version of a 336.

I too have the 30as, the difference is that the 30as does not have checkering on them and there is no sight hood for the front sight. And also what ditchpickle sites as differences. Other than that it is the exact same action. But there cheaper than the 336 and mine shoots very very well for a 30-30. A mega reliable gun no problems at all. And its taken several nice whitetails too:p

Marlin 30 AS

I just come back from testing one that I just bought off another CGNer recently. Nice gun, functions flawlessly. I'm a no frills gun user myself as my guns get used, plus the price was right. I like the fact that I can mount a scope on it as well, which I will as I find the sights too crude for any distance shooting. Plan to try some of that new Hornady Lever Evolution ammo once scope is on. Nice gun.
