Marlin 336 centennial?

I picked up an old Marlin 336 today, it has the Marlin coin in the buttstock. It says Marlin with a man on horseback and has the dates 1870and 1970 on it. From what I have found online they are a 100 year centennial production. I have never seen one before today, does anybody else have one?

There must be somebody on this group that knows about these rifles. We have a lot of knowledgeable people on this website
 
The medallion was placed on 336 models manufactured in 1970 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Marlin. Medallions can be found on auction sites etc and could be installed on any non-1970 rifle however. A 1970 model 336 will have a serial number starting with 70#####.
