Hello friends, I have an older (1949) Marlin 336 RC that was shooting pretty high last summer, even after I removed the rear elevator. The front sight was worn down so I ordered a new one from Skinner Sights. I had to file down the base that slides into the dovetail which is directly in the barrel, not on a ramp. I think I have it centered in there fairly well.
Two questions:
1. When it comes time to sight it in, I should adjust for left/right by drifting the read sights instead of the front sights. Correct?
2. Once I have it sighted in should I dribble a little loctite into the front sight?
Any advice is appreciated.
