I have a newer Marlin Model 336c, and is just the basic model.

I got this about 4 years ago, and the fit and finnish are nice, not like the horror stories we hear these days.

It has functioned perfectly and is pretty damn accurate.

Only wear is to the wood checkering which is just a little roughed up in a couple places, but no major chips or dings at all.

I would give it a 8.5 to 9 out of 10 overall condition only because of the finish coming off of a couple spots on the checkering.

I paid $450 +tax, and the cheapest I can find em for is $430 at Lebaron, so curious what I should be looking for.

I usually check the EE for similar rifles in similar condition, then drop the price at least $25 less, but don't have access right now.

I am not trying to make my money back or have this for sale forever, just want to get it gone quickly to someone who will use the thing.

No EE Solicitations

For the members posting to this question on this discussion page, please be advised the Hunting & Sporting Arms discussion page is just that, a discussion page. It is not appropriate to make Equipment Exchange [aka EE] type solicitations on the discussion pages, as have been done here with the previous two posts [now removed] in this thread. That is what the CGN EE is for. However, as mentioned in his post, the OP doesn't presently have EE access. If you want to make an offer on this member's rifle Personal Messaging [aka PM's] would be more appropriate.

Please keep the discussion to the question posed by the OP in the thread.

Thank you.

On the discussion...

Gun shop trade vs. private sale....

You will likely do better with a private sale. Using your rifle for a "gun shop trade" you will likely get something less than retail value for it. Typically, the shop will want to realize something out of the trade as well as on the item(s) being traded for. That has always been my experience. An exception may be if you are trading it back thru the shop where your purchased your rifle they might make you a better trade deal.

I recently purchased a Marlin 336 .30-30 off the EE. Excellent condition with scope base installed. Paid $400 shipped for it & was pleased with my purchase.

Nice condition 30-30 could bring 350.00 as the older model were top notch, if it were in 44mag it would fetch easy 450-500... JP.
