Marlin 336T advice

Straight grips are not as common if it is a Texan. They usually command a slightly higher price then the standard 336. Especially if it had a shorter barrel. I would say very top end price would be $600.

I've been buying selling Marlins over the last few weeks and I just paid top dollar for a 1952 336RC in .35, which would be a generally more desirable model than a 1970's T in .30-30 - in this case top dollar at a dealer was $500.

I think unless it's a rare model (.375 Winchester, for example), I rather doubt you will break $500.

Most guys will prefer a new gun, despite the reputations of the older Marlins. You can get new 336C's for under $500 on sale. $336W's are under $500 regular price at most stores.

He may be referring to it as a "saddle gun" because the 336T in 30-30 with a 20" barrel was offered with a brass saddle ring on it. This feature started in 1965 and was discontinued in 1972.

$500-600 for this model would be fairly common.

It all depends on how badly you need it Grasshopper.
And also the wisdom of value the seller knows or doesn't on his rifle.
Start at $400 and see where it ends up.
Or just ask the seller what $$ he would be willing to sell it to you for
and if it falls into any of the above mentioned and you're content with
the offer, it only herts wunce.
Don't forgit the ammo if there is any to be had.

Good luck.

If it is in excellent shape I would say $600 OBO. These old straight grips are in pretty high demand seems to me. One even better is the Marauder in .35 Remington with the 16 1/4 inch barrel, guys go mad for them.

There can't be more then a couple hand fulls of them in Canada, I would be willing to pay top price for one.

The Texans, are at the top of the 336 pile. The Marauders, well, they're like unicorns up here..
