Marlin 39a lever or CZ 455 bolt -- which is more fun to shoot?

Two classic guns -- one a lever, the other a bolt-action. I'm curious of whether anyone out there has shot both and has an opinion of which is more fun to shoot. Thanks for any responses, in advance.

I bought a cz 455 standard for hunting and long range plinking, and after that a Henry 0001 lever for plinking. That Henry sure is alot of fun, and I like being able to shoot shorts and LR interchangeably.

After some hiccups the 455 is working out really nice with a 6-18x40 varmint scope. It's so accurate as not to be a fun plinker of cans so much. It's like the Paul McCartney of 22.'s

and to round the line up off I have a 10/22 with the 25 rd mags.

2 people can head out to the gravel pits and have a good time with this line up. That was my goal

I don't have a CZ but do have some very accurate .22s including a Savage bolt BTVLSS and a Marlin 39A. The Savage is surgical but you're working with a 5 or 10 shot clip. The Marlin is very accurate but you can load er' up with a hole bunch of shorts and shoot all day. We are talkin' fun!

Have a CZ452 and a Marlin 39a, both nice guns but prefer the lever for fun shooting.

I prefer a bolt action, it may be slightly slower than a lever but the bolt travel on a 22 like the CZ is quite short so if you practice you can still shoot fairly quickly. Plus a bolt is way easier to shoot from prone.

Not getting too much fun from my CZ455 these days cuz it's been at the warranty depot for five months.

But for the three times I actually got it to the range it was STUPID fun. Very accurate and just 'felt right'.

I've never fired a Marlin 39 (sweet looking guns BTW) but did own a Winchester 9422 and sold it. Never really liked the method of loading that thing, and it was a pain to clean compared to my bolt actions. My Savage, CZ, and Anschutz bolt-action rimfires could all out-shoot it too, so I sold it with only about 200 shots down the pipe. The prone thing was mentioned already, but I think bolt actions are easier to carry, and reign supreme shooting prone.

I'm planning on getting one of everything, so if you do the same....get your second choice a few months down the road. My plan is working, but I'll be about 300 years old when I'm done adding to the collection.

Shot both and have the 39A...in fact several other .22lr levers.

Can't beat levers for pure fun factor and accuracy to boot.

My CZ 452 is way more accurate than any of my levers but the fun factor is in the lever's favour.

I have a 39a Mountie, and shot a speed steel match with it a couple weeks ago. It was fun, and I will go back. With the 3 - 9 scope, I shot a 10 shot .95 inch group at 50 metres using CCI MiniMag. I took the scope off for the match so I would be in Production Class.
Fun is in the eye of the shooter. A week ago at the range, a shooter was trying to make a fun gun out of a 7.62 x 54R that was getting 4 inches at 50 yards. I showed him some 1 inch groups out of my .260 at 200 metres: Now this is fun. His sfriend was getting a little discusted with the 4" groups and was definitely more interested in my rifle. I have had a CZ452V but it would not work in the Speed Steel so that would not have been fun.

Otherwise my votes on the 455 because i don't care much for lever action.

I have both guns, the lever is funner.
