Marlin 39A problem...

Every now and then, and with no particular ammo, it will jam
when I go to feed a round. Lever opens, but when I go to close it
it wont move. I can see the round in there and its free but the lever
wont go. I have to roll it and poke it to get the round out.
Just to be clear.... the lever "moves" but wont close.
I bet somebody knows exactly what this is.... I hope..

Tighten up your thumb screw a little more.
With mine it appears to be slightly out of alignment and about another 1/8 of a turn is all it takes.
