Post'em with the glass and ring combos.
Not sure what to put on this gal I have.
I know 4x for optics ain't gonna work with
my crappy shoot'in eye.
Maybe this should of gone in the optics area?
Up to you mod's to move or stay.

My Mountie has a Weaver 90 base with a Weaver style rings and a Bushnell Sportview 3 - 9 power and an adjustable objective.
Bought it about 20 years ago for my son's T-Bolt but the rings would move along the dovetails. So when it needed a scope for the winter, this one was available.
Come spring when Speed Steel starts up again the scope and base will come off for the Cowboy Production class.

They made the mounties with both rounded and squared levers.
Quoted from the Marlinowners page,
1953 First Mountie straight grip 24” barrel marked 39A rounded lever
1954-1956 straight grip 20” barrel marked 39A rounded lever
1957-1971 straight grip 20” barrel marked Marlin Golden 39A-Mountie rounded lever
1971-1987 straight grip 20” barrel marked Original Golden 39M squared lever

I understand why someone would scope a rilfe....but scoped levers look so awkward. Really takes away the nice clean slim lines.

I really wish someone would come up with a 'nicer' looking mount for the 39's...

Ditto. I really don't like the shape or size of the Weaver #90 mount. I have an older Marlin steel mount with a 3/8" dovetail that looks cleaner, but is pretty limited in terms of scope position.

Here's a friend's Mountie on top of which I just put a Weaver 2-7x28 rimfire scope, a Weaver #90 mount, and Burris Low Z-rings. The combo comes in at 6lbs 13oz, unloaded.

I was suitably impressed with the Weaver 2-7x28 scope, and it'd be plenty for tired eyes to hit squirrels/rabbits. The eye-relief is about 3.7-3.9". I prefer to use longer eye-relief scopes on levers so I can move them forward to just above the hammer, but not many suitable scopes exist. You tend to have to go to 2.5x shotgun scopes to get that to work.
