Hi everyone, just wanted your thoughts on this on I was recently cruising gunbroker.com and came across a Marlin 444XLR (jm stamped) with bids and time left at $1501 US!!! I know there are not that many JM stamped 444XLR's but that seems a bit ridiculous. As I have one in better condition than the one for sale, I am curious has anyone seen one at a gun show? how much are they going for here? and/or what would you pay for one?

Thanks KW

The XLR's in 35rem, 444 and 450M were discontinued prior to the New Haven plant closure. They tend to command a higher price than the 30-30 and 308M rifles, which continued on after the move. The 338M is one of the highest priced xlr models now and a good one is hard to find (the 338M's were discontinued, and were plagued with Remlin issues)

They don't seem to come up locally, the past few 444xlrs that I've bought were mint and in the $900-$1050 range.

I remember when WWS was clearing them out at $639 3 years ago.
