Hi all. SAIL has the Marlin 60 DLX for 289$. Could not resist. A lot of rifle for that price. Cheaper or equally priced to the standard hardwood version...
The walnut is very nice, Checkering is laser cut but sharp and functional, rubber buttplate, upgraded sights. Fit and finish is present. Action screws are Allen. Dont know if std 60's are the same? Hope it's as accurate as it looks good.
Hurry up!!

This is how i decided to set it up. Mounted by a Vortex DB HP 2-8X32.

The sheet metal used for the front sight hood is thin. Too thin. It bends and dont need much force to slid it out. The tube magasine was not centered but easy to take care of. For the rest it's pretty good.

Thanks for the heads up. I already have a 795 but these are really nice looking and sail has 15% off firearms right now so I couldnt pass it up. I noticed when I got home that these aren't the 50th anniversary ones like their website shows :(

Went to get one Friday and the counter guy told me he just sold the last 3 to one guy...then walked away from me.
Eff Sail... no more of my money... 2 many times they have failed in customer service.

Might have been that guy that had 2 for sale in the EE;)

Lucky for me I went last night to get a price adjustment to the $199 price. Looked today at the website and price is back to $289 and sold out everywhere is seems.

I heard the semiauto Marlins don't do too well with high velocity ammo . it beats the action up . can anyone shed some light on the story I heard about this ?? you are susposed to put some sort of a buffer in the back of the reciever. not so with the Ruger 10/22. I was thinking about getting one of those Marlins with the tube under the barrel till heard about this issue.

There are aftermarket springs and the Marlins do have a buffer in them already. I just got a model 60 and it rocks.

I doubt very much if using any modern .22LR rifle with high velocity ammo will harm it. Most all bulk ammo is high velocity and even finding standard velocity ammo can be a chore.

Can't be that great of a gun if you are dumping it in a month!
They are decent, but overly complicated guts compared to a lot of other semi 22's.
