Hey guys I just bought a new marlin 60 150 anniversary edition. I’m am going to mount a Leupold VX-Freedom Rimfire 2-7x33 on it. I’ve been doing some research, it seems people are having problems with the rings moving on the dovetail what recommendations do you guys have for dovetail rings or a mount for this gun. Thanks

I would try the dovetail, and if YOU have issues with it, then look for a solution. Generally speaking dovetails work just fine for 22lr level recoil.

I found a suitable weaver branded rail at my lgs and drilled and tapped the receiver. This was on a new at the time $149 marlin 795. Best mod I’ve done to that gun. The rail had a groove on the underside that was pretty close to the dovetail. I didn’t care about preserving resale at the time, but realistically, it’s probably increased in value now regardless. It’s nice being able to drop a red dot on it.
I had trouble initially. A good set or rings might’ve done it, but $80 rings on a $150 .22 for my daughter wasn’t going to happen.

As mentioned, I’ve had no problem with dovetail rings with rimfire recoil.

On another note, I bought a marlin 60 off the EE that came with tech sights mounted. I am incredibly happy with that setup. In my opinion, it’s perfect.

I have tech sights on a marlin 795. They ARE pretty damn sweet! Hard to get in Canada these days I've heard though, I had to get mine through a user here.
