I have searched the posts here to see what the best option is for adding a sling to a Marlin 60, but have not found any definitive answer (nor online on other sites). I have read that you can buy a new stock (apparently Marlin sells them), but haven't been able to locate one. The only other option that I have seen is to add Uncle Mikes .22 - but it looks like it connects to the tube magazine - which doesn't appear to me to have long term appeal. I was hoping that I could get some insight from someone here that has added a sling to their Marlin to give some direction? Thanks.

Hi M4rs - I got a mdl-60 last Summer and just bought some sling mounts on Amazon. My rifle has a laminate stock, so I just had to drill a couple holes and use the supplied hardware. This would work for the hardwood and synth stocks, too. You can get ones with wide oblong loops for slings, but I went with one that was just studs . . . I use 'notebook' straps for slings. I've bought several n-book cases used, then sold them without the straps at yard sales. And I got a piece of white 'sign' plastic about 3/16" thick and cut it out on a jig saw to make a butt spacer - looks OK if not perfect ;-)
BTW, if you loosen the magazine tube and rotate it about 100 degrees to one side, you can load easier with Less chance of dropping rounds . . . or just buy a Spee-D-loader ( about $25 on Amazon.com, but not avail on .ca). If you can get one shipped up here, it'll cost you over $50 !! I had one when I lived in the states, and they're great ! Up here I had to make my own as devised by 'Richard Bone' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTRAL241kis
Also, lots of mods can be done using tips from 'Arrowdodger' - including some y-tube vids he posted. I got my trigger down under 3# so far - see my threads about my mods I've done.
Best luck and keep well,
Ed

Thanks for the info, and I thought that the Marlin 60 forend was to thin to drill...I will dig into Arrowdodger!
