if you were wanting an accurate semi-automatic[I already have a CZ bolt action]would you buy the heavy barrel #7000,or the regular model? If so-why?

Being limited to the 10 round magazine doesn't bother me,I'm more concerned over reliabilty and accuracy.I'm not planning on tricking it up or after market stuff-a plain jane model suits me finejustas long as its functional

If you don't plan to pimp it up like a Civic, the 7000 is a great model. It is very accurate out of the box and light.

My favorite .22 so far!

The 7000 is accurate, but requires frequent cleaning to keep it functioning reliably. A second hand Browning semi-auto in good condition is pretty hard to beat. The Browning action is far superior to the Marlin in terms of reliability, trigger, fit, finish and machined tolerances. Plus you can break the Browning down and put it into a backpack. I have owned both.
CZ makes a semi-auto .22 and it's available at Wholesale Sports. Might be worth a look.

I would buy a 7000 in a heart beat, especially that spanky looking one with the multi colour laminated stock :)
Could you please clarify that comment, Oh Nut Scaping Guru You.:D I haven't seen one, other than a synthetic one for sale.
