Marlin 795 bolt problem(s) : won't hold open on last shot and will not feed properly

Hey there!

It seems that the "last shot hold open" of my Marlin 795 does not work anymore. This problem is consistent no matter the mag (either the pro-mag 25 magazine or the standard 10 rounds magazine). I went shooting today and the bolt almost always failed to hold open after the last shot (it worked properly a few times but they were exceptions).

It was my second time taking this rifle out to the range and it never happened before. I am using CCI mini-mags as usual and the bolt hold open works when the bolt is taken back manually. I clean my cannon everytime I shoot but have never yet cleaned the action (I have shot 600 bullets, now). Could that solve the issue?

There is also a second issue (maybe) : While at the range, I also had two bullets fail to properly feed. What seems to happen is that they loaded at an angle. Once I pull the trigger, they fail to fire and get bent (see picture : http://i.imgur.com/KpixSFe.jpg). I am also thinking this could be caused by a malfunctioning bolt. Any thoughts?

For the first problem I would check for friction between the little flat peice that slides up and down to engage the last shot hold open. Maybe try giving it a shot of cleaner or blow it out with air and then a drop of oil if needed.

Cleaning you firearm completely will fix many issues. I know many people around don't understand that concept but clean every part of it to it looks brand new

The fail to feed just seems to happen. Its a semi auto 22 and semi 22lr are known to be picky on ammo. I find any Winchester ammo works well. I tried saving a buck and got federal ammo and can't get through 3 mags with out a stoppage of some kind.
