Hey, I just wanted to say that I picked up one of these rifles before I went camping this weekend as my PAL arrived the day before trip was planned(first firearm EVER w:h:) and threw about 700 rounds of various qualities through it.
There was not a single failure to eject or failure to fire. It was also dead on accurate, I couldn't believe it!
With the low low price tag of just about 180$ after taxes I think anyone considering buying a .22 should pick one of these up, the only downside was only having one magazine!

Maybe there aren't as many customization options as there are for the good ol' 10/22 but as far as function and fun go this thing is mint.

I'm not shilling or anything (affiliated with 0 retailers or suppliers or manufacturers) just super excited to share the news of a good purchase with anyone considering picking up a .22 that won't break the bank.

Check Nutnfancy's youtube video if you are interested, he does a pretty thorough review.

Peace. Love.

Took it out again today in some logging roads and taped off 50yds with a little 4x20 rimfire scope that came with my crossbow (it is literally called "rifle scope" theres not much to say so here are some cold hard picture-facts

from left to right at 50yds with no rest Prone, Kneeling, Standing results! Used 10 shots with Remington .22 Target ammunition :)

I hate Nutnfancy, but the only video of his I sat through was his 795 video because it was the only video on YouTube I could find at the time about the 795 that involved more than just a 30 second grainy clip of ten rounds being dumped through it. I have to say, the video pretty much sold me. I don't have one right now as money is tight (Damn milsurp, you're not as inexpensive as I thought you were!) and a have a bolt action .22 that is suiting me fine, but as soon as the cash starts to flow I will be picking one of these up. I do believe Cabellas sells 795 ten round mags for about 15 bucks each, if you want more. It's the only place I've seen them during the half assed search I did.

The Tech Sights he had on the rifle looked fantastic, is there anywhere we can get Tech Sights for the 795 here in Canada?

I love Marlin .22's...

Honestly, it's one of the few topics that pop up often, and there don't seem to be a "non loving" crowd. There are many that haven't tried them. I've yet to encounter someone who tested one, and didn't see it's merits.

No, there are not many aftermarket bits...for a Fudd like me, that's just more appeal. Imagine, a .22 you don't have to upgrade after purchasing!

Congrats on your PAL, and making a fine selection as a first rifle.

Hey there i was looking at this rifle as a second purchase after my marlin xt that i absolutely love
And for the price couldnt see the down side glad its getting good reviews next buy maybe

i like mine... bass pro (sorry) purchase- think it cost about $125 after the rebate (not inc taxes). it's worked well... the scope mounts aren't the most secure, but that's the only thing i can find to complain about.

And it's still new. Once you get used to the feel of it and get some more practice in, you'll see just how accurate these little budget shooters are.

At this point, I'm disappointed if I don't take out a gopher's eye at 50 with my Marlin 60; it means I failed the rifle...

I love my 795s. Well, I love mine and my wife loves her's. :p

While they're not as great "out of the box" as they used to be, they're still pretty darn good. I've done a bit of work to mine (the one with no scope) already; shimming to reduce action play and trigger pre-travel, installation of the MCARBO spring kit to reduce trigger pull and I switched out the sights as I find peeps much more accurate.

Jewel's (the one with the scope) is getting all the same attention as mine with the addition of the ATI Fiberforce stock and a Simmons 3-9x40SP scope. The stock requires a bit of fitting but it turned out well enough I guess. I could do it again better now that I know what I'm doing.

Anyway, I guess I've rambled on enough. Enjoy your new rifle! :)
