As the title says, since the last cleaning, my marlin 795 won't hold the magazines in anymore.
What seems to be happening is that the magazine catcher (piece 30 on this schematics : https://www.brownells.com/schematics/Marlin-/795-sid293.aspx) doesn't catch the magazine anymore. So what happens is that when I stick a magazine in, it doesn't "click" in and can be pulled out freely. I have yet to fire so I don't know if it affects feeding, but I still would like to fix it.
I think the mag catcher must've gotten bent when I tried to remove the trigger guard. I tried to bend it back into place but I think I only made matters worse.
Has something like that ever happened to you?
