Marlin 795 or mod. 60 in stainless...which one????

I like the tube fed system on the 60....Less vulnerable than a protruding magazine.
Correct me if I'm wrong (and I know you guys will), but other than the feed system the 795 and the 60 are very close if not identical.

I prefer the 60 also because it offers more options for stock material. The 795ss is synthetic only, 60 stainless can be found in synth, wood and laminate. Otherwise they are exactly the same action design besides the feed system.

The 'ol tube vs. mag debate...

Here's my take...Mags can be handy for car hunting. Can't drive with it loaded but, if you see something slap n' snap. That's the only "plus" I can imagine...
Tube:
-cannot be lost!
-I Would race anyone on this earth loading a tube full vs. a magazine (for most, I'd even allow 5 in the mag vs. a full tube!). Also, cheap (arrow aluminum) "speed loaders" can made for tubes.

Mag:
can be pre-loaded and, put in a pocket. Can be purchased as an add-on...

Bottom line, can't go wrong with a Marlin and, the 'ol tube vs. mag thing is a preference...one plus to 795 vs 60 Is new 795's are easier for me to acquire....

I just got 795, the mags fit super tight. It is better now after some light sanding.

The 795 is ~$50 cheaper after MIR, if 60 / 795 are the same price, I will buy a 60 instead.

just picked up a used 60 today. Pretty happy with it so far. Seems accurate though I didn't have much time to shoot. Trigger is terrible. Fed reliably. I think after I polish it up a little it will be a fun gun but I like my 10/22's better.
