Marlin 795 semi auto for 119.94- good rifle? good price?

Do you need to call in to order from Bass Pro or can you do it online? I see the flyer online but looks like you need to call to order firearms. update: ya you gotta call in, i may pick up another 795 to!

The 795s are great little rifles... for the price. I've owned two in the past and while they were quite accurate and fairly reliable so long as you fed them high velocity ammo, they were still only $150 rifles. The trigger pull is ridiculously heavy and the internals are kinda flimsy. One of my 795s routinely worked the trigger pin loose which could only be fixed by completely disassembling the trigger group. Not fun when you're a couple hours from the truck. But the other 795 I had very rarely gave me a problem. Maybe I just got unlucky with the first one.

I just called the Ontario store and the guy said "he thinks" they are all spoken for, and they arent even in stock yet grrrrrr.

Ya i called Bass Pro again to confirm there was no 795's in stock and they put me on hold until I hung up. Never again. I did ,however, purchase another Marlin 795 off the EE just a moment ago, I have no problem paying a bit more for good service. cheers
It's fitting to name it "Bass Pro"...
....they "bait" you with the low prices in the flyer, only for you to arrive with it all "sold out".....
It is a decent place to buy shotgun shells and soft-shell carry-bags on the cheap, though....

Picked up my 795 today!!!!
And it's lovely.
Untouched by human hands since leaving the factory (unless Bass Pro Employees count)!
Actually, they were very good. Things at Bass Pro were a bit confused- but to give them due credit, they were trying to honour rain checks, yet still have a few available for walk-in customers. Trying to make everyone happy.
So, walked in, and about 35 minutes later, was on my way out.
Now if only I'd been able to buy some AMMUNITION- but they're sold out of .22, and many other calibres too.
And it's lovely.

I've talked to a Marlin rep in Canada- she said it WOULD be honoured.
the silly thing is, there's only a u.s. mailing address.
the paperwork is then apparently sent back to her in Canada... although supposedly you can request her address from Marlin
I have a 795 and its a great little rifle. sadly, it only comes with 1 mag and I need at least 1 extra. Can anyone tell me if mags from other Marlin 22's will fit the 795? The website doesn't say and I'm still waiting after a month for the one I ordered from a shop. 7 rounders are easy to find, I want a 10 shot.
