Marlin 795 trigger

Hey there
If anyone else has 795 or quite possibly a model 60 if they have the same trigger. Is there anything that can be done to make the pull just a bit softer and crisper? I love the thing but eversince i put a scope on it I find the pull a little heavier than i would like.
Im comparing it to my Remington 552 which has a super smooth and crisp trigger.

Is this a new rifle you've bought?
Don't worry- this trigger will lighten up after a couple of bricks through it, I experienced the same with my new Marlin 60.

Ive had it for a while, more or less when they first came out and have put several thousand rounds through it. things havent changed too much.

Go to the Rimfire Central Forums and do a search. There are a bunch of threads about modifications to lighten the 795/7000 trigger pull.

Think i will try the spring tension route versus shaving any material off.

Hi IanC!, what scope you've put on that baby cause i've just ordered a 7000 and that scope fits like a glove on that rifle!! ....I dont want a scope that is too long.

Its a bushnell Banner 4-12x40mm.
Dont know what brand the mount is but i have a simmilar one for sale.
for 20 bucks plus shipping. The screw heads are alittle worn but the mount
itself looks great. I live in Ontario. PM me if interested.
I found the Marlin is better with the one piece mount. The scope kept creeping. To remedy this put down a piece of black hockey tape on the groves then secure the mount. Plus one pieces look way cool.

Thanks IanC, that's exactly the scope I whish to put on it so now I have a good idea of what it will look like!! For the mount, I'll see if the one that came with the rifle is good anough for my needs and if not, i'll give you some news about that....anyway, I dont know if a 40mm will fit on the rifle with the supplied rings cause I have the heavy barrel?! Give us some news about your trigger mod.!!
Can't wait to recieve it and shoot it!!!!!!!!
