I'm looking into getting another semi auto rimfire. I have plenty of rimfires, but very few semi's. Only semi's are the Savage 64FVSS and 10/22. Gun store nearby has the 795, and when I handled it, it fits right. However, I wasn't able to shoot it. How reliable and accurate is it? Model I had was sightless, drilled for scope mounts. Are their any with sights? Most importantly, are their extended mags for it? The only reason I bought the 10/22 was for the extended, 30 round mags. That is a big factor for me.

i have read from rimfirecentral.com that theyre good shooters and are just box mag versions of the model60, which is supposedly the best selling rimfire ever. there used to be large capacity mags for them, but i dont think anyone currently makes any for them, so finding high capacity mags for them will be pretty hard to find.

My Mum just bought the 795ss with ten round mags. It has surprisingly good sights for shooting within fifty yards. She will be putting a red dot or scope on it to make it easier for her seventy three year old eyes.
I shot it and like it better than my 10/22 high cap mags notwithstanding. If you like high caps just weld some ten rounders together or make a snail mag for it.

Looks like a buddy of mine picked it up. Bastard. Ahh well. At least I'll get to fire it for free now. Perhaps search for another if I like it.
