I recently acquired a Marlin Model 92 in .22 rimfire. It needed a through cleaning and I took it completly apart. Now I cannot reassemble the tube magazine. I am not sure how the spring system works. Can anyone help?
There are Marlin disassembly guides online, I think, they aren't going to be for rimfire as far as I can tell. There are exploded diagrams for 92s all over the web. None of these help directly, but probably a similar system operates. How disassembled is it? I've never owned that kind of gun but there is a follower at the receiver and a spring, a tube, and a unit at the end that screws or twist to lock it under compression. Is there also something to hold the extension tube from falling out? Some load from side ports, and others from the end. just lay out the parts and think it through. Or go to leverguns.com and go to the interim board, and ask there. the main board got knocked out by a virus a month back. In fact I will copy your message over there.
