Marlin 94 .44 Mag

I've had 3 of the Marlin 1894's in .44 mag from the the 70's & 80's plus one post JM .357 unit back around 2011. (Ya, the sights were canted on that one.)
They are nice little units to work with. A well sorted one will make for an accurate & reliable shooter easy enough. Only buggaboo fer me with the .44's is
the 1 in 38" rifling twist which ain't the best for stabilizing bullets heavier than 265 gr or so.

The earlier micro-groove rifles don't perform well with cast bullets at speeds beyond 1500 fps in my experience which is why I didn't keep 'em a long time.
I would be happy with a new Marlin Cowboy in 44 mag if it came with a 1 in 20" twist and was up to snuff as far as sight indexing and stock fit.

I have a Marlin 94 in 44 mag and really like it. Quite accurate and cycles flawlessly.
Rarely ever use it anymore and not sure why I hang onto it.....part of this gun addiction.
