I'm getting a lady involved in shooting the last while. She has been shooting my Mossberg 46M & is quite capable with it & fond of it as well.
But a Mossberg 46M is an old oddball, so we perused the selection at Crappy Tire.
The one she liked was the Marlin 981TS.
Anyone have any feedback on it? Good, bad or indifferent?

I picked up a BNIB 981T a few years ago for ~$200. Have shot a few bricks of various .22lr ammo with no issues. It feels like an adult sized rifle and the med-weight micro grove barrel is very accurate.
While it has iron sights I found the comb of the stock is really more suitable for a scope. The only mod I've done to my rifle is a Papermate pen spring to lighten up the trigger.
If she's looking for an inexpensive accurate bolt .22lr and doesn't want to mess with mags….the 981T is a good choice.

Bought a 981T and a 982T at one Christmas sale (Wholesale) 4 or 5 years ago ( 375.00 all in for both ), they are reliable and accurate rifles and the grandkids shoot them a lot... Go for one you wont regret it... JP.
