Good day all,

I own the above noted rifle in the title. I rarely use it and was thinking of selling it. A friend of mine told me to check online values for these guns as they have seemingly turned into a collectors item in the last few years.

I listed the rifle for sale as "accepting offers" in the CGN buy/sell but was swiftly reminded I need a price. I honestly have no idea what its market value is currently. Its not 100/100 pristine, there are some very minor blemishes. I looked on gun broker and the only gen 1 remlin I could find was a guy looking for 3500usd- this seems insane.

There are none used in Canada that I can find online. Is there anyone with knowledge on these guns who can inbox me or chime in as to the actual value of this thing.

appreciatively,

Mike.

This probably doesn't help but I just bought a 1895ABL for $1700, this was a Remington made Marlin from 2017 in very good to excellent condition, it came with a leather butt pad with shell holders and XS sights and rail, this was the cheapest one I have seen in a couple of months of looking. Most seem to start about $2000 and go up from there.

I've handled neither, but was under the impression the Remington versions were less desirable than the Rugers. I started out looking for one but ended up getting a Henry instead as it was easier to find. I recall seeing a few listed in the sub $2k sort of range. Probably the one Milt Dale just mentioned

We are not the US so that valuation is optimistic. In general the new gen Ruger made Marlins seem to have better QA/QC but that particular model was a limited run so I bet got more attention in that regard. Also the new Ruger made Dark series are way too tactical for a wider market imo, so I could see people preferring the gen 1. I think you would do well to get 3K if you hit the right buyer, but realistically probably south of 2.5K.
