Marlin Dark Series Model 1895/336/1894
Just a few weeks ago, Marlin announced the long-awaited return of the Dark Series, and we had the chance to test-drive it. Here's how it performed

Hell yeah. Needs a big ridiculous fire breathing brake on it.

Edit: Somehow I missed the first pic, where it does, in fact, have a brake on it. Derp. Maybe a more ridiculous one?

LOL, hideous looking gun.
But GEN Z, MILLENIALS will jizz themselves over it

OK boomer. lol

Half these threads seem to have some random guy attributing anything he doesn’t like to subsequent generations trying to be edgy. Thousands of posts and most are junk. Clearly they didn’t introduce unleaded gasoline quick enough…

Lol, it's because it's black isn't it.

I wish we could like comments on here cuz both of you fellas would get one from me hahahaBut seriously black rifles DO matter!

I don't think millenials/gen z will jizz on the looks of the gun as much as they will jizz over the fact that they have a rifle they can list for $4000 FIRMS on GP ..they know what they got...

This is the rifle I wanted in 38 Special ...... just as Remington went under and took Marlin with it. Been waiting several years for Marlin to return. This is likely the best package for a black lever gun.

I ended up going with a Rossi R92 Double Black because it was available and it is a decent option. I've modified mine to slightly better than Citadel Levtac spec and it's awesome. I'd still consider one of the new Marlin's though .... even though they will be pretty expensive here once we get them in.

The 45-70 model, at under 7 lbs is gonna kick like a mule with heavy loads. It won't be anywhere near as fun as most people think it will be. A 30-30 option would be OK and can be loaded to subsonic velocities. I really wanted a 44 Mag but had a ton of loading components for 38 Special so ended up going that route. It is super easy to load for, very chinzy on powder and really fun to shoot.

Fricken old people. If its not wood and shiny blue then its "ugly"

Needs a can.

Yes it does.

"Fricken old people. If its not wood and shiny blue then its "ugly""

haha. As someone who identifies as male and old I get it. But, this is a sweet looking lever. I had a Chiappa .357 takedown that I sold. I have been looking for another 357 lever and this in the running.

Would there be issues cycling 38 thru a 357? Different length projectile.

Keep in mind this model is limited availability as per Marlin website, But that is a ridiculous mark up.($1000)

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Though they obviously don’t have them in stock yet RDSC has their price at $1700 for these. Just my opinion, but $1000 markup is straight up gouging, full stop.

I agree, & Ty for the heads up on RDSC bringing these in. Appreciated
