Hey guys,
I recently traded for a Marlin Glenfield Model 778 12ga shotgun. I took this gun with plans of just getting the barrel cut down to 470mm as the 30" one it has now is too long for my purposes. However, I contacted a gunsmith to inquire about getting the barrel shortened and he said he has to see if Marlin made a shorter barrel for it and if not, he can't shorten it without the gun being classified as restricted. Is this how things work when shortening a shotgun barrel, and if so does anyone know if Marlin made a short barrel for the 778? Help much appreciated thanks in advance!
