Marlin/Glenfield to .30-30 AI

I have a very nice Marlin/Glenfield lever gun in .30-30 Win. A shop I deal with said they could ream the chamber to .30-30 Ackley Improved for 120.00. When I asked about dies to reload I was quoted 275.00 for RCBS custom dies with 10 week waiting period. Does anyone have a better solution? I know Lee will make a set for about 100.00 but I thought I would pick some learned minds her.

30-30 AI will give you the ballistics of a factory loaded 300 Savage. Shop around some more for the dies, you can usually find them cheaper. I like the cartridge, but be aware that some tube magazine guns won't feed the improved case real well. - dan

Paid $65 US delivered right from Lee about 6 months ago. Don't have my .30-30 back yet from the shop, but I'll be ready when it is......probably one of the best of the "improveds".
