Would this work?
I am thinking of having a friend extend my mag tube so that it is flush with the barrel of my 1895GS. I have stated that I didn't like the idea of adding another dovetail in the barrel but my friend came up with a solution.
If I could get a magazine tube from Marlin for the new SBL(?) my friend told me he would utilize the present dovetail and attach the mag tube via a sort of figure of eight clamp as the Winchester 94's have.
My question is, would it affect accuracy with having a clamp on the barrel.

I would think introducing another pressure point on the barrel would hurt your accuracy. Particularly when the barrel heats up, you may see an the shots start to fly. Cold bore repeatability might be alright though, provided that the force exerted on the barrel by the clamp was constant.

I'm not a gunsmith by any means, but this seems to make the most sense to me.

Absolutely.
What's your aversion to having a dovetail cut? As long as it's done professionally it would be better than a clamp. Full length mag tubes on G's are done to death in the US, check out Marlinowners.com for awesome info.

I'm thinking you could most likely export a tube from a cowboy from brownells or WGP if your guns blued. Cut the tube to length, cut your dovetail, Bobs your uncle.

The old dovetail can also be filled in and contoured to match the barrel so that it is almost unnoticeable. In fact, I think Brockmanns actually offers dovetail filling as a service and they have some example pictures that show the dovetail to be invisible post-filling.
